The Richmond Greens Say:
"More world cooperation through Sister Cities."
As Green citizens of Richmond, California, The
U.S. and the World we believe that:
- U.S foreign policy should emphasize promoting other nations’
self-sufficiency and self-determination, rather than ensuring
security for overseas American business interests and the
retention and expansion of military bases.
- We must insist that U.S. corporations maintain foreign business
practices that don’t jeopardize workers, damage their
environment or interfere with their government.
- We must stop unilateral aggression to the peoples of the
world.
~ Stop the wars for oil and for cheap resources.
~ Close all US military bases abroad and clean up the
toxic wastes left behind.
~ End US imperial domination.
- Return military bases to the countries from which they were
expropriated, i.e. Guantanamo Bay Base, in Cuba.

As Green citizens and residents of Richmond we support active
participation in the citizen’s diplomacy work of the Richmond-Regla,
Cuba Sister City relationship, and the sister city relationships
that Richmond has with Shimada, Japan and Zhoushan, China.
Early in 2003 more than 60 teachers from Richmond and West
Contra Costa County will travel to Regla, Cuba in a “Teacher
to Maestra” trip which should be a great educational opportunity
for citizens of both cities.
